The Self-Discovery Quiz

How well do you really know yourself?

Take our 5-Minute Self-Discovery Quiz (Time and Name TBD) and let’s find out!

What is ‘Self’ anyway?

Are you your trauma? Are you your actions? Are you what others think of you?

We human beings are complex. Each of us is one big, beautiful mess. But my decades of study and practice in the fields of trauma counseling, traditional therapy, and psychotherapy alternatives led me to a new understanding of Self, grounded in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model.

What is Internal Family Systems?

The IFS model posits that each individual possesses an inner ‘Self’ and a variety of ‘Parts.’ These ‘Parts’ are subpersonalities or aspects of our psyche, each with its own viewpoints, emotions, and memories. They often take on protective roles and can carry burdens from past experiences.

The ‘Self’, in contrast, is the core of your being—compassionate, curious, calm, and connected. It’s your true essence, unburdened by past traumas and societal conditioning.

This 5-Minute Self-Discovery Quiz (Time and Name TBD) is designed to gauge the extent to which your ‘Parts’ and your ‘Self’ are in conversation with each other in order to illuminate your potential areas of struggle so you can forge a way forward.

If you’ve tried traditional therapy, trauma counseling, and psychotherapy alternatives, but still feel weighed down by trauma, anxiety, and self-doubt, this quiz is your first step on a new pathway to healing.

As you answer each question, try to do so from a place of honest reflection. There are only 9 questions, but they go deep. Take your time. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers. Each response is a step towards deeper self-understanding. This quiz is a tool for self-awareness and growth, not a diagnostic tool. It should be used as a guide to explore aspects of your psyche and not as a definitive assessment.
